Our mission is to make onboarding a business trivially safe. Knowing who you're dealing with (that a company is real, who actually owns it, and whether it belongs on a watchlist) should be one clean answer, not a department. We turned the painful parts of KYB into infrastructure so any team can clear real businesses in and keep fraud out.
Our story
Before clearbound, our founders ran compliance and onboarding at fintech and marketplace companies. Approving a single business meant stitching together a registry lookup here, a sanctions API there, a document upload, a spreadsheet of owners, and a queue of manual reviews, none of which agreed with each other.
Every product team wanted the same thing: one call that says approve, review, or decline, with the evidence attached. Nobody sold it. So in 2024 we left to build it: the verification layer we kept rebuilding badly, done once and done properly.
One auditable answer, not a pile of raw data
What we believe
We're building infrastructure people stake their business on. These are the principles that keep us honest when a decision is hard.
We don't sell data dumps. We sell a decision someone can defend to a regulator, a board, or a customer. If it isn't trustworthy, it isn't shippable.
Fast onboarding and rigorous checks aren't a trade-off. We obsess over the median 38-second verification and the 0.1% edge case alike.
Every score and decision carries its sources. We'd rather show our work than ask anyone to take a black box on faith.
We handle sensitive ownership and identity data. We collect the minimum, retain it deliberately, and treat every record like it's our own.
Clean APIs, real sandboxes, typed SDKs, honest docs. The fastest way to earn a developer's trust is to never waste their time.
Fraud adapts the moment a control works. We assume we're being probed, monitor continuously, and ship defenses before they're needed.
